10:15 am – 11:00 am – PANEL: Legal Cultivation of Psilocybin; How Will It Be Regulated?
The use and understanding of psilocybin are on the rise, and with this comes a need for new rules and regulations. As more states and regions ease restrictions, methods for legal cultivation are needed to maintain a grasp on a soon expanding market. This panel will dive into the potential ways in which legal psilocybin cultivation will be regulated by taking a look at currently established standards alongside the potential outlook in the near future. Legal regulations are an integral aspect for anyone looking to create business opportunities within the world of psychedelics and also for personal use. Here, we will take an in-depth assessment of both.
11:15am – 12:00pm – SOLO: Methodologies of Cultivation; Growing Cubensis
Psilocybe cubensis is a fungus known for producing the hallucinogenic compounds psilocybin and psilocin. As new regulations for these compounds allow for more recreational use and scientifically backed research, it is imperative to have a better understanding of how cubensis can be cultivated. With sound cultivation methods cubensis will fruit prolifically, giving way to copious fruiting bodies in small spaces and short time frames. This discussion will focus on the optimum growth conditions for Psilocybe cubensis and highlight a few historical uses and methods of cultivation.
12:15pm – 01:00pm – PANEL: Psilocybin Treatment for Anxiety; Diagnosing, Dosing and Efficacy
Anxiety affects over 284 million people worldwide and the number perpetually augments. Many sufferers of anxiety have solicited help from the medical industry and corresponding pharmaceutical drugs only to become distraught at having to take medications that may have deleterious side effects, may be slow-acting, or may not work that well for an individual at all. The need for a faster acting alternative is high, and magic mushrooms may be just what the doctor ordered… literally.
A single dose of psilocybin-containing mushrooms demonstrated rapid power for alleviating the symptoms of anxiety and depression in cancer patients, and researchers are looking to evaluate how study results will translate to the greater population. But the prospect of being able to swiftly shed the debilitating burdens of anxiety and depression provides a much-needed sliver of light at the end of a dark and long tunnel. Imagine much more hopeful scenes where people have their lives back and are living every minute to each day’s fullest potential once the gloom has succumbed to a healthy, happy radiance. This panel provides discourse on the use of magic mushrooms for treating anxiety.
1:15pm – 2:00pm – SOLO: How Psychedelics are Waking us up, and What this Means for the Future of Mental Health
2:15pm – 3:00pm – PANEL: Experiencing Psychedelics: Ridding The Stigma and Informing The Masses
Psychedelics have a long-held history of empowering the counterculture. While this outside of the mainstream reputation has led to the verge of widespread acceptance, the stigma surrounding psychedelic still exists. This panel will explore ways in which education, information, and experience can help remove this stigma and support growing evidence for the application of psychedelics for a number of medicinal and psychological purposes. Key to a better understanding is awareness and a shift in perception and the discussions held here will demonstrate innovative ideas to explore new horizons as the psychedelics spotlight grows brighter.
10:15 am – 11:00 am – PANEL: Lysergic Acid Diethylamide; Treating Drug Dependencies With a Schedule I Substance
Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) was shuddered behind Schedule I status just as pioneering scientists touted its benefits. Today, LSD makes its grand comeback in a shocking way: treating drug dependency. That’s right—the banned substance successfully treats drug and alcohol dependence. Its non-addictive and relatively safe nature make LSD a prime candidate for clinical therapy. LSD generates mind-bending experiences with myriad benefits given the right conditions. Understanding how to harness its power is crucial. Improper dosing and poor environment can cause temporary but undesirable side effects. Convene with this panel to navigate the waters of treating drug dependency with LSD.

11:15am – 12:00pm – PANEL: Ethical Uses of Psychedelics in Scientific Studies; Creating Safe Spaces
Psychedelic medicine, although used for thousands of years by many cultures, is making its way into Western medicine. Traditionally these plant medicines have been consumed in religious or cultural ceremonies led by shamans. However, clinics in the US have started administering psychedelics such as ketamine as in-person sessions. To improve response to these therapies, set and setting must be taken into consideration, as they are important components of the psychedelic experience. In addition, whether through clinical research or practice, all practitioners must be thoroughly trained in how to keep patients comfortable to facilitate a positive experience. Unfortunately, many patients (often women) are vulnerable under the influence of these sessions and have been assaulted by practitioners. In developing protocols for clinical sessions, these serious issues must be taken into consideration and background checks should performed on all potential practitioners to avoid violating patient trust.

2:15pm – 3:00pm – PANEL: AYAHUASCA’S ORIGIN; Changes in Ritualistic Uses From Past to Present
One thousand years ago—deep in the heart of the Amazon basin—shamans brewed ¬¬a mysterious and powerful elixir. This ayahuasca inspired profound vision journeys. The sacred drink conferred connection to nature and healing. Today, imbibers all over the globe enjoy ayahuasca. Some ceremonies mimic the traditional ways, but legitimate shamans are scarce. Danger lurks. Many have turned to contemporary rituals to reinvent the past and meet present needs. The benefits of ayahuasca stretch across clinical domains, begging the question: how do we bridge ritual and medicine? Join this panel to explore ancient mystical spirituality at the intersection of modern medicine.
